Our retail storefront, which opened its doors in August 2014, has created a welcoming space that goes beyond just shopping. Our mission is clear: to foster our local community and economy by offering affordable, high-quality, and locally produced food and goods in a welcoming space that strengthens our community’s social fabric.
We focus on promoting and selling food and other goods produced within a 10-mile radius of the co-op, at an affordable price. This radius serves a low-income, low-access area population and includes approximately 90 agricultural producers. What sets us apart is our commitment to affordability without compromising quality. By focusing on goods within our community’s radius, we not only support local businesses but also ensure that our offerings are accessible to all.
But we’re more than just a store. Marsh River Cooperative is a vibrant community hub, dedicated to cultivating connections. Our frequent events shine a spotlight on our producers and showcase the talents of our vendors. Located in the heart of Waldo County, our gatherings act as powerful catalysts, fostering lasting connections and nurturing relationships within our community.
