A few new items for the store this week. We have;

La Marouette Grenache Rose (French, Organic)

La Marouette Sauvignon Blanc (French, Organic)

Santa Rita Cabernet Reserva (Chile, Organic)

I’m working on expanding our organic whites for the summer and that brings our total to 18 bottles of organic wines!

We also just put on the shelf a Hard Parmesan Wedge from Sardo.

I just wanted to share the awesome art work our Board President, Kim Jacobs, did to liven up the grains Fridge! I’ve also been monitoring it’s energy usage and it’s only using about 66 watts an hour which will be a big improvement. Check out the picture below!

We are trying something new at the store. We have moved the produce from the display coolers over to the walkin and shifted the flours over to a cooler by the meat freezer. There are a few reasons for this.

1. We have found that the produce remains fresher and crisper by remaining in the walkin and we are striving to provide the best quality produce we possibly can.
2. By turning off the display coolers we hope to save money and reduce are carbon footprint. They were donations to us and unfortunately they are not very efficient. I’ve done some rough calculations and if we are able to keep the display coolers off we may be able to reduce our carbon footprint by up to 20 tons of Co2 over the course of the year.

We’ve been expanding what we have for seedlings and plants so now we have seedlings/flowers from Mckay Farm, Chase Stream Farm and Stantial Brook. We also have trees from Fox Nursery, Shadbush, Eastern Red Maple and Black Walnuts.
