New Items 09-28-2018

Hi Everyone,

So we have a new few items today from local (Maine) producers so we thought we’d reach out and let you know about them.

We now have a selection of meats from A Small Good in Rockport. We’ll keep some defrosted and then we’ll have a few in the back freezer for backstock.

  1. “Proper” Bacon
  2. Thai BBQ Sausage
  3. Brown Butter Breakfast Sausage
  4. Kranjska Sausage (It’s a type of Slovenian Garlic Sausage)

And to go with the sausage we had a request to carry the Early Riser from Speckled Ax in Portland which has been delivered and is ready to go!

New Items and Hours Change 09-26-2018

Hi Folks,

We have a few new items this week including our yearly Bulb Display from fellow Co-Op Fedco. Seems like the cold has abated for a day or two but it will be back soon I’m sure. And as the days get shorter we will be moving off our summer hours and will return to closing at 6:00pm on Friday and Saturday on October 1st, but hopefully everyone knows if I’m closing it is a “soft” 6:00pm. And now on to the list for this week,

  1. North Branch Creamery (Monroe) Whiffletree Farmstead Alpine Style (This will be on the shelf in the next day or two, getting the right supplies to break it down)
  2. Ducktrap Smoked Salmon Pate (Belfast)(Associated started carrying more ducktrap products)
  3. Ducktrap Smoked Mussels (Belfast)
  4. Fomu Tahitian Vanilla Coconut Icecream (Vegan)
  5. And of course our full display of Dutch Bulbs from Fedco.

New Items 09/14/2018

Hi Folks,

So as usual we’ve done a bit of rearranging in the store and added some more items onto our shelves. We moved our older small freezer from the back and placed it next to the large display freezer and now we have space to put out whole chickens from Tide Mill as well as using the wall space above it to display our shelf stable meat selection (Whites Farm in Winterport and items from Daniele Meats). The personal care items have moved around the back of the repack bulk grains wall. If you have any trouble finding anything please let us know!

And now for the new items list;

  1. Swans Raw Honey now in 2.5lb Glass Jars
  2. Tide Mill Organic Whole Chickens
  3. Bulk Whole Dried Chipotle Peppers (Board Request)
  4. Grandy Oats Coconola Choc Chunk (Employee Request)
  5. Yum Earth Org Candy Corn Snack Packs
  6. Tsubi Soups Miso Cup Mix
  7. Kikkoman Unbleached Panko

And because we’ve received so many calls from people asking if we have any essential oils we’ve added a small selection from Frontier. They are in the smaller size so that the price doesn’t get too high at one time. If there is one you’d like to see let us know!

  1. Org Peppermint 7.4ml
  2. Org Lavender 7.4ml
  3. Org Patchouli 7.4ml
  4. Org Tea Tree 7.4ml
  5. Org Lemon 7.4ml
  6. Org Rosemary 7.4ml

Death Cafe with Nancy McAlley 09/27/18 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Hi Folks,

We are pleased to welcome back Nancy McAlley for another Death Cafe at the Marsh River Cooperative. We had a few questions previously about what this was so Nancy was nice enough to type up a description for us. If you have any additional questions please don’t hesitate to ask us! We also created a Facebook Event (link below) if you want to let us know you will be attending.

Death Cafe with Nancy McAlley

What is a “Death Café” ?

It is a relaxed space to talk about issues around life and death.

There is no fixed agenda, we talk about whatever comes up
Some topics that have come up in the past:

  • Green cemeteries vs. traditional
  • Burying on your own property
  • Funeral options
  • Making your own coffin, biodegradable coffins
  • Water cremation vs. fire cremation
  • Dying at home or in a facility
  • Transporting a body yourself
  • Do you need a will

And much more

Come join in the discussion and find out what you don’t know and share what you do know with others

It is a fun evening with many laughs even though it is serious discussion.
